Outstanding quality at Holly House Hospital

We were proud to announce 98% patient satisfaction for the end of 2011 but this time we have achieved perfection with 100% of our patients rating the quality of care at Holly House as excellent, very good or good for the first quarter of this year.

As well as outstanding clinical care, patients can also be confident the hospital practices very high standards of food safety following a five-star rating by Epping Forest District Council in the national Food Hygiene Rating Scheme. We cater for up to 55 inpatients as well as visitors, surgeons and staff every day and were given the top rating followed an unannounced inspection by a Food Safety Officer from the council. The rating shows how well we are meeting the requirements of food hygiene law across the following criteria:

  • how hygienically the food is handled – how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.
  • the condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities.
  • how the business manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe.

Finally, we have successfully been reaccrdited as an Investor in People, an achievement we have held continuously since 1999. Summarising her findings the IIP assessor said in her feedback that the hospital has some ‘smashing people working with us who live and breathe Holly House and are extremely loyal’.
