NHS patients
As part of the NHS Patient Choice scheme, you may now be able to have your NHS treatment at The Holly Private Hospital.
What is Patient Choice?
Patient Choice is a government initiative introduced to give NHS patients more choice about where and when they are treated. It means that NHS patients in England who require hospital treatment will be offered a choice of hospitals or clinics for their treatment (including participating private hospitals) by their GP and one of the options could be The Holly Private Hospital. Can I choose The Holly Private Hospital for my NHS treatment?
Yes. However, not all of the services and treatments offered at The Holly Private Hospital are available as part of the Patient Choice scheme, only select specialties. Also the number of appointments allocated to the scheme is limited, so we may not always have availability. To find out if you can have your NHS treatment at Holly House, simply ask to your GP.
Booking an appointment
Once you have chosen The Holly Private Hospital for your treatment from the choice of hospitals offered by your GP, it is likely that your GP or other practice staff will book your appointment for you whilst you are in the surgery. Alternatively, if you wish to book your own appointment, please contact the Choose and Book helpline on 0345 60 88 88 8.
The current NHS guidelines are 18 weeks from seeing your GP to receiving hospital treatment. If you would like to have your consultation or treatment sooner than this, then you may wish to consider coming as a private patient instead.
Once your NHS appointment has been booked with us, you will receive a letter from The Holly Private Hospital confirming the details of your appointment and any instructions you may need to follow in preparation of your appointment.

Paying for my treatment
Every aspect of your treatment will be covered by the NHS. You will however, need to pay for personal items such as newspapers, meals for your visitors or telephone calls at the end of your stay in hospital, just like you would in an NHS hospital.
