Infection prevention boosted by hospital refurbishment
As part of ongoing refurbishment works, local private hospital, Holly House Hospital, has become one of the first hospitals in the country to have introduced new infection-resistant materials into patient bedrooms.
When considering new bathroom furniture for the hospital’s ensuite bedrooms, Holly House found a range by Normbau Antibacterial which has Microban®, an antibacterial additive, built into the products. This new technology sets standards in all areas where hygiene is highly important, such as hospitals, providing an added level of defence against harmful infections, like Listeria and Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) as well as many other bacteria.
The Microban® protection is incorporated into the polymer structure of the furniture during the production process meaning it cannot be washed away or rubbed off. It remains active for the duration of the product’s life cycle, providing a unique, effective and consistent prevention of germ build-up from one use to the next.
