Fees, Training & Background:
Dr Wong studied medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School, London. As an undergraduate she was awarded honours in her intercalated BSc degree in clinical genetics
and a distinction in her medical degree (MBBS). She also attained numerous undergraduate prizes in dermatology, pathology, immunology and pharmacology.
She undertook specialist training in dermatology at Bart’s Health NHS Trust, Homerton Hospital, Whipps Cross Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital, during which she developed her clinical interest and expertise in hair loss and scalp disorders. Dr Wong completed dermatology training in 2012 and shortly after was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist at Homerton University Hospital where she was the clinical lead for community dermatology and hair loss services before leaving in 2018.
Dr Wong is driven by a desire to improve and educate attitudes to hair loss, so that its psychological consequences are better understood. Her dedication to this goal led her to start the charitable foundation ‘Get Ahead of Hair Loss’ which aims to boost the profile of hair loss issues through an educational programme of events featuring top UK specialists from the fields of psychology, trichology, dermatology, cosmetic camouflage, hair science and hairdressing.
Dr Wong is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, British Hair and Nail Society and the European Hair Research Society. She has also recently been appointed onto the advisory board of the British Beauty Council.
