The Holly Private Hospital shortlisted in Nursing Times Workforce Awards 2018

The Holly Private Hospital has been shortlisted in the inaugural Nursing Times Workforce Awards 2018 in the Best Employer for Staff Recognition category.

The Nursing Times Workforce Awards recognise and reward the excellent work that is being done by employers to support the nursing and midwifery workforce.

The Best Employer for Staff Recognition award is aimed at organisations where nursing and midwifery staff are recognised and rewarded and staff are more motivated and engaged.

According to the awards organisers, the judges were looking for organisations that demonstrate a clear commitment to identifying dedicated and high-performing individuals in their workforce and ensuring their achievements are celebrated. The panel of 15 esteemed judges said the standard of entries from over 100 organisations was extremely high and provided evidence that there was a lot of great work happening to support the nursing and midwifery workforce.

Speaking about the shortlisting, Dr Lorraine Kelly, Director of Nursing and Clinical Services said,

“We are really excited to be shortlisted in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards, and particularly in the Best Employer for Staff Recognition category. Now more than ever it is imperative that we support and nurture our nursing workforce and show them how much we truly value them.

At The Holly Private Hospital we are committed to recognising excellence in our nursing teams and to progressing to nursing excellence. For that reason we are well on our way to achieving Magnet Recognition and are on course to be the first private hospital in the UK to achieve this status.  To nurses this means education and development through every career stage, which leads to greater autonomy at the bedside. To patients, it means the very best care, delivered by nurses who are supported to be the very best that they can be.”

The winners of the Nursing Times Workforce Awards will be announced on 4 October, which is the same day as the inaugural Nursing Times Workforce Summit.

The summit will highlight important discussions and showcase innovation in workforce planning and management, which will contribute to sustaining a workforce fit for the future. As everyone agrees, a sustainable nursing and midwifery workforce is essential to ensuring the quality of services and protecting patient safety.
