Psychiatry (Mental Health)

Psychiatry is the study, prevention and treatment of emotional and behavioural problems and mental illness.

At some time in your life you may experience personal problems or feelings that concern you, our consultant psychiatrists may be able to help you manage or overcome these difficulties. Psychiatry sessions will usually examine your physical and mental state as well as your personal and family history.

We provide regular one-to-one outpatient clinics, the personal content of which is strictly confidential to the consultant. Our expert psychiatrists specialise in alcohol and substanceabuse, bipolar disorders, depression, eating disorders, marital and relationship problems, mood disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD), post-traumatic stress and psychosexual problems.

Treatment may include medication, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or behaviour therapy.

This service is available to anyone and you do not necessarily need to be referred by a GP or other healthcare professional.
