Additional car parking for patients
We are delighted to announce that twenty-five new spaces are now available for patients to park onsite free of charge.
The additional car park has been created as part of our £20 million expansion and redevelopment. The new build, which was officially opened earlier this year by Karren Brady, vice-chairman of West Ham United Football Club and star of TV's ‘The Apprentice’, includes a new outpatients department with 23 consulting rooms and three new theatres. A new pharmacy, pathology lab and endoscopy unit are also housed in the new building. The redevelopment will complement existing facilities which include high-tech diagnostic imaging services, screening, physiotherapy, GP services, fertility, weight-loss and cosmetic surgery.
Phil Bates, Hospital Director, said: “We recognised that parking onsite was a concern for our patients and neighbours and the redevelopment gave us an opportunity to address this. We owned a cottage within the hospital grounds by our main entrance on High Road which has historically always been home to our administrative staff. With the redevelopment we have moved this team into our new building and been able to clear the land so that we could create additional patient parking. Last month, we also opened a new staff car park in the basement of our new building which has a further 43 spaces.”
