New Director of Nursing at The Holly

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Lorraine Kelly as Director of Nursing and Clinical Services at The Holly Private Hospital. Lorraine’s focus will be to maintain the high standards of clinical and patient-centred care the Hospital delivers, sustain existing good practice, embed consistent high quality care, and help ensure our patients have a positive patient experience.

Lorraine has 6 years’ experience as a Director of Nursing and Clinical Services with BMI. She joined BMI as Director of Nursing and Clinical Services of the dual site BMI Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals where she implemented best practices across all nursing and clinical service areas. During her tenure they won the London Region BMI Pride Award for Improvement in Culture and Product.

As a result of her success at BMI Kings Oak & Cavell, Lorraine was asked by her Executive Director (ED) David Henderson to take on the Director of Nursing role to support him at the BMI The Clementine Churchill Hospital. Lorraine successfully led an extensive quality improvement program at the hospital.

Prior to BMI, Lorraine was a Matron for Clinical Practice and a Matron for General Surgery & Orthopaedics in the NHS. She also has 15 years’ experience as a Lead Nurse in breast cancer care and has a PhD in breast cancer care.

In accepting the position, Lorraine said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Director of Nursing and Clinical Services for The Holly Private Hospital. This is a wonderful hospital and you have already set the standards very high. I’m really looking forward to working with staff across the hospital to build on the wide range of work already underway to deliver the very highest standards of patient care.”

Hospital Director, David Henderson said: “I am very pleased to welcome Lorraine as the hospital’s new Director of Nursing and Clinical Services. Lorraine brings with her a great deal of experience, gathered from a range of nursing and strategic roles. Her passion for what she does is infectious and I’m in no doubt that Lorraine will play a key role in driving new initiatives and further developing services at The Holly, while providing experienced leadership and direction for our nursing and clinical teams.”

Lorraine replaces Sharon Gatland who finished her Director of Nursing role at the end of June. We wish Sharon all the very best for the future and thank her for all her hard work and achievements over the past three years.
