New Day Care Unit for Holly House
As part of our on-going programme of improvements to Holly House Hospital we have recently developed a new Day Care Unit. The Day Care Unit is specially designed for patients who are coming to the hospital for day surgery, meaning no overnight stay in hospital is necessary.
This modern facility features:
- an arrivals lounge
- a nurses’ station
- 8 patient bays (equipped with either a bed or lounge chair, depending on patients’ individual requirements) as well as a personal entertainment centre
- free WIFI
- complimentary refreshments.
The Day Care Unit is conveniently located adjacent to our 5 state-of-the-art operating theatres, meaning that after undergoing surgery we can quickly and easily transfer patients to the recovery suite with minimal disruption.
Depending on a patients’ procedure, they might need to rest and recuperate in our Day Care Unit for between 1 to 6 hours after treatment before returning home. Our team of expert nurses and consultant doctors are on hand to care for them while they are in the Day Care Unit and to ensure they are fit and well enough to return home.
