Inspirational Karren Brady opens £20 million redevelopment at Holly House Hospital

Inspirational businesswoman, vice-chairman of West Ham United Football Club, and star of BBC One’s ‘The Apprentice’ Karren Brady officially opened our new £20 million purpose-built healthcare facility on Friday 1 March 2013.

The redevelopment at Holly House Hospital marks the start of an exciting phase in the hospital’s 30-plus year history.  Karren cut the ribbon to open the facility which includes a new outpatients department with 23 consulting rooms and three new theatres.  A new pharmacy, pathology lab and endoscopy unit are also housed in the new building.

West Ham United Football Club uses diagnostic services at Holly House Hospital to assess the fitness and health of potential new signings.  Speaking at the launch Karren said: “Holly House is really important to West Ham United Football Club as it provides vital medical expertise to take care of our people.  Players have all their medical tests here, including MRI scans, and we couldn’t make decisions to invest in players, who each represent a multi-million pound investment, without the medical expertise and input of Holly House Hospital.”

Karren also praised the caring philosophy of staff and the new facilities and said: “When you are ill you need to know you’re being treated in the best place by the best people who can fix you. Every patient is cared for at Holly House as staff would their own family members.  It has the right staff, the right facilities and it has set the tone for 21st century healthcare.”

Holly House Hospital provides a wide range of outpatient and inpatient treatment and surgery – from mole removal to hip replacement.  The redevelopment complements existing facilities which include high-tech diagnostic imaging services, screening, physiotherapy, GP services, fertility, weight-loss and cosmetic surgery.

The new building was designed by LSI Architects LLP.
