Holly House consultant interviewed on BBC Essex
Local BBC radio station, BBC Essex, interviewed Dr Vivek Mehta, Consultant Pain Physician at Holly House Hospital, about the innovative treatment of migraine patients with Botox.
Dr Mehta says: “A lot of people actually suffer from migraine. Eight million people in the UK suffer, with just less than 200,000 attacks per day.”
“Migraine is caused by hypersensitivity of the nervous cells. So, Botox works by blocking the transmission of pain from one nervous cell to another.”
“The results have been pretty phenomenal so far.”
The interview aired on 25 February 2013. Listen to the interview in full…
