Miss Payne has dedicated her training to achieving a high standard in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
She attended QMC (London University) to obtain a first class BSc(Hons) degree in Genetics, then completed her medical degree at St Thomas’s and Guys Hospitals in 1994, followed by a Masters degree at UCL. In 2007 she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in plastic surgery FRCS(Plast) and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register.
Two fellowships fine-tuned her training - a year at Toronto General/Mount Sinai Hospitals, Canada, specialising in Microsurgery, Breast Reconstruction and Head and Neck Surgery, and another in cosmetic surgery at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital also in London.
As well as being the Head of Plastic Surgery and Clinical Lead in breast reconstruction at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Hospitals, her specialist area is in procedures such as breast enlargement/reduction, breast symmetrisation, lipofilling, tummy-tuck, liposuction, body sculpting and corrective surgery after massive weight-loss - all of which she performs in her private and NHS practice. She has a particular interest in women’s surgery and can dedicate an all-women team to patients' surgical needs.
She has peer-review publications, co-authored book chapters and been invited to lecture at national and international meetings on a variety of topics in aesthetic and plastic surgery.
Miss Payne has raised over £8,000 for charity by taking part in bike races and last year climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro at 5,895 metres.
