Mr Goldie’s area of expertise is in problems of the upper limb. In other words the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
In the shoulder he treats conditions such as frozen shoulder, impingement and torn rotator cuff.
Around the elbow, he treats tennis and golfer’s elbow, and ulnar nerve compression.
At the wrist Mr Goldie excises ganglions, performs percutaneous and open scaphoid fracture fixation and carpal tunnel decompressions.
In the hand he performs trigger finger release, de Quervains decompression, and fixes fractures of the hand bones. Mr Goldie has a particular interest in Dupuytren’s disease (Dupuytren’s contracture), and is one of the few surgeons in London regularly performing needle release in his outpatient clinics, known as Needle Aponevrotomy or NA, Needle Aponeurotomy or Percutaneous Needle Fasciotomy (PNF).

Mr Goldie’s orthopaedic training was at St Mary’s Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston USA.
From 1993 until April 2015, he was a Consultant at Whipps Cross University Hospital.
Mr Goldie has been on the national faculty for the British Society for Surgery of the Hand instructional courses, and the AO Hand Fracture fixation courses. He is also an invited lecturer on the European Acumed Upper Limb Fracture Fixation course.
Mr Goldie continues to innovate and has lectured on the use of 3D printers in Orthopaedics.
