Back pain and sciatica, neck pain and brachialgia, facial pain, neuropathis pain and fibromyalgia.
Training & background:
Dr Ali qualified in 1987. He was granted the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1999.
As a research fellow at St George’s Hospital, he looked into the benefits of regional analgesia in reducing the stress response to pain and also investigated the useful role of Keterolac in the management of neuropathic and complex regional pain syndrome. He worked on many audit projects aimed at improving the pain services provided to patients in order to maximise the role of pain clinics.
Dr Ali had extensive fellowship training in interventional pain medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital in 2003. He was appointed as a Consultant in Neuroanaesthesia at Kings College Hospital in London in 2003 to the present date and an Honorary Consultant in Pain Medicine at Whipps Cross University Hospital between 2004 and 2011, where he was responsible for the education of specialist registrars during their fellowship training.
Dr Ali was granted “Foundation Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists” in 2008. He was also awarded the Fellowship of Interventional Pain Practice, FIPP, by the World Institute of Pain.
