Training and Background
Dr Devereux qualified in 1992 and began working in paediatrics in 1994, training in Essex and East London. In 2002 she began practising as a Consultant Paediatrician at the North Middlesex University Hospital (NMUH). In 2005 paediatric services transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital where Dr Devereux became the Clinical Lead for paediatrics and since the transfer back to NMUH in 2010 she has become the Clinical Director responsible for Maternity, Neonatal, Paediatric, and Gynaecology Services. She is an Advanced Paediatric Life Support and Neonatal Life Support Instructor, and also a trained Educational Supervisor for junior doctors and an appraiser for other consultants. She has a number of Clinical Excellence Awards and remains committed to continuing her professional development.
Dr Devereux has extensive Paediatric experience within a highly diverse, multicultural environment. Her day-to-day practice includes the care of preterm and newborn babies, acutely unwell or critically-ill children, as well as the out-patient management of all general paediatric conditions of babies and children aged 0 – 16. Her consultations are age appropriate taking into account the developmental needs of the child or young person.
