‘All in it together’ – Holly staff donate pamper packs for local NHS hospitals

Pamper Packs delivery

Staff at The Holly have come together to donate an incredible 160 ‘pamper packs’ for hardworking NHS colleagues at local hospitals. The goody packs, which includes hand cream, moisturiser, notebooks, pens, toiletries and sweets, have been donated to NHS colleagues who are treating Covid-19 patients at Whipps Cross Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The idea to donate the packs came from Gemma Drake, Customer Service Advisor in the Ivy Suite and Sally Shanley, Breast Care Specialist Nurse, who wanted to help boost the morale of NHS staff in the area. The packs were also a way of showing the appreciation of staff at The Holly – many of whom live in the local area and use NHS resources at Whipps Cross and Princess Alexandra – to the NHS.

Pamper Packs

The duo initially asked a few colleagues in their teams if they’d be willing to help and after receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, branched out to include more colleagues across The Holly.

Staff were asked to decorate old shoe boxes and contribute useful goodies and accessories, including toiletries and sweets for NHS staff. Within two weeks of the idea, more than 160 pamper packs had been created and are this week being delivered to the hospitals! A majority of the boxes also include a personalised card from staff and family members thanking our NHS heroes for their incredible efforts.

Hayley Terry, a Matron at The Holly, said: “It’s fantastic to see the support that this initiative has received from our generous teams at The Holly. I hope these packs will serve as a small reminder to our hardworking NHS staff of how grateful we are.”

The Holly is actively supporting the NHS in the fight against Covid-19 by dedicating its staff, resources and equipment to the health service. You can find out more about our Covid-19 initiatives on our website:
