About
Mr Sunil Kumar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital. He specialises in sports injuries and general orthopaedic surgery. His special interest is in arthroscopic knee surgery and knee replacement surgery. He works with surgeons around the country in the area of cartillage transplantation (ACI/ MACI).
For some knee replacements Mr Sunil Kumar uses the 3D printed patient customised iTotal Conformis knee implants which are individually designed and manufactured for the patient, providing a perfect, customised fit that mimics the natural shape of the knee.
Mr Kumar qualified in 1989 from London Medical College and then trained at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in New Zealand and Australia for knee and sports trauma.
Within his specialised field, Mr Kumar has developed various rapid rehabilitation programmes for traumatic osteochondial lesions requiring repair cartilage transplantation, posterior and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction along with multi-ligament stabilisation.
